Braintree Public Gardens were filled with the sound of music on Saturday.

Band Blues2Rock, which performs southern blues and classic rock, played to about 300 people.

Some people got up and danced towards the end of the evening and the organiser, the Friends of the Public Gardens, is pleased by how well it went.

The friends has organised its next event for September 6.

From 3pm, the Bocking Concert Brass will be performing in the gardens.

Entrance is free but there will be a collection to be split between the gardens and the brass band.
