Children are jumping for joy after their school was rated as “good”.
Inspectors visited Silver End Primary School, in School Road, Silver End, and found teaching and achievement had been boosted since it was deemed as “requires improvement” in 2013.
The school was found to be good in its leadership and management, behaviour and safety of pupils, quality of teaching, achievement of pupils and its early years provision.
Executive headteacher Stewart Caplen, who took over in September alongside business manager Angela Hobster, has been credited for significantly turning around the school’s fortunes.
The inspection report stated: “The executive headteacher provides inspiring leadership. Ably assisted by other leaders and governors, he has been successful in ensuring rapid improvements in teaching and achievement."
