Long-awaited improvements to a poorly designed roundabout have been hit by more delays because of an electrical fault, setting the project back more than two years.
New lanes and a cycle route were included in the Marks Farm roundabout in Braintree at the junction of the A120 and A131 in 2011.
But by September 2012, the Highways Agency, now known as Highways England, said it needed to be changed again because of traffic jams and safety concerns.
The new improvements, which will cost £75,000, were due to be made in spring 2013 and following setbacks, the work was supposed to be carried out at the end of 2014.
