Creative pupils were awarded for their hard work and commitment to photography, fine art and graphic design.

Students studying photography, resistent materials and graphic products among other subjects at Maltings Academy, in Spinks Lane, Witham, were handed awards for their outstanding work at a special ceremony last week.

The event featured live music and afternoon tea served by Year 9 food technology students and the school was also turned into an art gallery as the pupils put their work on display.

Hayley Lee, head of art and technology, said: “Awards were presented in the main hall to a select group of students for their commitment and dedication to their course.”

Outstanding work in GCSE resistant materials - Tyler Smart and Michael Knight.

Outstanding work in BTEC construction - Brendan Ashman.

Outstanding work in GCSE graphic products - Jon Brown.

Outstanding work in A-Level Photography - Megan Turner, Lois Bronze and Hannah Detnon.

Principal's choice award for outstanding work - Emily Moran and Adriana Kelidi The David Spiller Trophy for outstanding contribution to photography - Jemma-Louise Gardner.
