Satisfaction levels have dropped among rail users.

According to Transport Focus, satisfaction levels for Abellio Greater Anglia have dropped from 80 per cent in autumn 2014 to 75 per cent in spring this year.

The National Rail Passenger Survey was conducted by Transport Focus between January and March this year, measuring the satisfaction of 30,000 passengers.

MP Priti Patel, whose constituency includes Witham, Tiptree and Wickham Bishops, said: “The results of the survey are in line with the many complaints and representations I have received.

“The ongoing issues of poor services, facilities on board the trains, the lack of capacity especially at peak times, along with the failure of the train company to provide information to passengers and their handling of delays are all ongoing concerns that Abellio must address.”

The current franchise expires in October 2016.
