A long-standing floral tradition in Witham is set to come to an end after 15 years after an organiser has announced her retirement.
Organisers of the Witham in Bloom group have announced that it will fold at the end of the year after long-serving volunteer Annie Northfield announced she will step down.
The group, which was taken on as independent organisation more than a decade ago from under the leadership of Witham Town Council, is well-known in the town for providing beautiful hanging baskets, creating floral displays, setting up competitions in schools and organising annual garden open days.
It was also successful in winning the silver award in the 2004 Anglia in Bloom competition.
