Braintree united in support of its servicemen and women in the run-up to Armed Forces’ Day.
Councillor Lyn Walters, chairman of Braintree Council, raised the Armed Forces’ Day flag at Braintree Town Hall today in front of war veterans from Witham.
Braintree Council joined councils and groups from across the country in flying the flag to mark a week of celebrations in support for the military community.
Mrs Walters said: “I am delighted to have the honour of supporting Armed Forces’ Day and meeting representatives from the various military organisations who attended. “Raising the Armed Forces’ Day flag was a poignant moment for me.”
