Braintree Arts Theatre is hosting the rare opportunity to witness Peter Howarth: Unplugged.

The lead singer and songwriter from The Hollies, Cliff Richard guitarist and West End star, will treat music lovers to an intimate solo gig loaded with vocal talent and superb acoustic guitar arrangements.

On Saturday June 20, he will fill the theatre with the acoustic undertones of tracks by The Hollies, Cliff Richard, as well as Roy Orbison hits.

Theatre manager Phil Pattie, said: “We’re very much excited about continuing our success of bringing live music to the people of Braintree.

“This will be an intimate gig with Peter playing a terrific acoustic set.”

Songs on the playlist include He Ain’t Heavy He’s My Brother, The Air That I Breathe, Jennifer Eccles, Devil Woman, Carrie, Pretty Woman, Blue Bayou and more.

His most notable forays into the world of stardom came when he provided The Hollies' two most-recent studio albums, Staying Power, Then, Now, Always and the acclaimed live album We Got The Tunes in 2013.

He also co-wrote the West End musical, Robin, Prince of Sherwood.

And not to do things by halves, the artist is also bringing special guest singer-songwriter Michael Armstrong who will also be performing a selection of his own compositions, plus songs by musicians who inspire him.
