Police have carried out a search warrant at missing Chris May's home amid concerns about "suspicious" circumstances surrounding his disappearance.

The investigation into Chris’ disappearance is now being led by the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate under the direction of DCI Marina Ericson.

Chris, 28, from St Marys Road, Kelvedon, has not been seen since he left his father Peter’s address in Mount Road, Coggeshall on the morning of Monday, May 25.

Since then there have been no sightings of Chris and his car, a silver VW Golf was found abandoned in Troy’s Chase, Fairstead, on Wednesday, May 27, but is believed to have been there since the Monday.

DCI Ericson said: "Concerns for Chris’ welfare are mounting and I am investigating the possibility that there may be something more suspicious surrounding his disappearance or that he may have come to some harm.

"We will be searching his home today to find any clues which may lead us to establish the reason behind Chris’ disappearance and help us find out where he is and what has happened to him.”

The search focussed on Chris' home in Kelvedon.
