A disabled man has been left “devastated” after a housing association threatened to move him out of his home after his mum died.
Paul Cooch, 45, claims Greenfields Community Housing’s benefits team advised him that he will lose his home in London Road, Kelvedon, in just six months after his mum Delia died from leukaemia last Monday.
Mr Cooch, whose dad suffered from a stroke in March and is currently staying in a care home in Chelmsford, wants to stay in the home he grew up in.
The three-bedroom house, which features handrails on the stairs, an orthopaedic bed and a walk-in bath, is specially adapted for him after he suffered severe spinal injuries when he was involved in a car crash in 2003.
