Dedicated volunteers who help run Braintree’s museum have been nominated for prestigious awards in recognition of their commitment.
Six volunteers who work at the museum in Manor Street, Braintree, were nominated by staff for the SHARE Volunteer Awards for museums in the east of England.
Husband and wife team, John and Sandra Adlam, were put forward for the “behind the scenes” category for the time they contribute to the museum that goes unseen, such as making exhibition cases and spending hours researching.
Karen Wade and Lynne Mahoney were nominated in the “front of house” category, Vanessa Green in the “bringing innovation” category and Graham Herriott was suggested for “going the extra mile”.
