Braintree's biggest housing association is building its first houses in the town as part of its pledge to deliver 800 more homes over the next five years.

Greenfields Community Housing has begun building nine new homes in Coldnailhurst Avenue, two in Hillside Gardens, Braintree, and two more in Queens Gardens, Panfield.

The homes are mixture of two and three-bedroom houses and bungalows and each house will have two parking spaces.

The work is expected to be completed by March next year.

Chief executive Phil Adams said: “These are the first new homes we have built in Braintree and it has been a pleasure to sign the contracts and begin work. I look forward to seeing new residents moving in next year.”
