A video of a superhero walking the streets of Braintree has gone viral across social media - amassing more than 36,000 views.
Jean Lynch spotted Captain America strolling down Coggeshall Road while she was in the car last week and just had time to capture him on video while passing him.
Since posting the 11 second clip, entitled “Only in Braintree”, on Facebook last Sunday, it has been viewed by tens of thousands of people and shared more than 340 times.
Wondering who could be in the superhero suit, comments on the video included “Maybe he's on his way to a stag do or fancy dress party, or maybe he's just odd” and “saving Braintree”.
But now the Times has unmasked the superhero as Kurtis Manning, who was walking home from work at Cineworld after staff dressed up as the Avengers characters to promote the new film Avengers: Age of Ultron.
