Angry residents left without water for a week are asking why a leaking pipe in a repossessed house
has been left so long.
A service pipe started spilling water underneath the unoccupied house in Spencer Square, Bocking, last Thursday and four homes have been without a water supply since – including one household with a baby.
Resident Joelle Salomone is "disgusted" she and her neighbours have been forced to use bottled water to flush the toilet and wash.
Repairs had still not been carried out by yesterday morning.
Ms Salomone said: "We can’t go on like this.
"I’m having to buy 17p bottles of water from Asda, heat it in the kettle and wash by the sink like the old days – it’s ridiculous.
"My neighbours with a baby have moved out until it’s fixed.
"We are all getting very fed up – how much longer will it take?"
The property is in the hands of an asset management company and on the market with Intercounty in Braintree.
Estate agents have been wrangling with the company for permission to fix the pipe and hope to have it repaired as soon as possible.
