A mum-of-three has undergone a marathon effort to raise more than £4,000 for the Brain Tumour Charity.
Briony Betteridge, of Church Lane, Bocking, is running the London Marathon on behalf of her nine-year-old niece Amelia, who was diagnosed with a brain tumour aged four.
Mrs Betteridge, 45, raised £1,654 from a charity race, raffle and auction at The Benson Bar, in Bradford Street, Braintree, on Thursday, to add to her donations.
She said: “There was a great turn out and everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves.
“All prizes were kindly donated by shops and businesses in Braintree and the surrounding areas. I have been overwhelmed by their generosity.
“The star item was a current season Arsenal shirt signed by all of the first team.”
She especially wanted to thank Bensons Bar for the use of the room free of charge.
