A MAN tricked his way into an elderly man's house.

The victim, in his 70s, was distracted when his wallet containing cash and cards was stolen by the thief, who had broken away from a group of three other people.

The burglary happened at 4.15pm on Monday, January 26, in West End Road, Tiptree.

Police today released an efit of a man they would like to speak to about the incident.

He is described as a white man in his 20s. He has black hair, a thin build and spoke with an English accent. He was wearing a green jacket, black trousers and black shoes.

There was a white van parked nearby that the group of men are believed to have used.

Anyone who recognises the man depicted in the efit is asked to contact Dc Bryan Heath at Colchester CID on 101.
