Youngsters from a Braintree Badger group learnt some vital lessons about keeping safe thanks to a visit from some local police officers.

PC James Draper and Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) Terrie Johnson, visited the St. Johns Ambulance Badgers at their weekly sett meeting.

The children, aged between five and ten, learnt about stranger danger and how to stay safe.

They even got to try on parts of the uniform.

PCSO Johnson, who organised the event, said: "It’s important to engage children and young people, not just in teaching them about how to be safe, but in educating them that officers are always here to help them and their communities.”

Approximately 30 children attend the group, where they are involved in activities and learn important first aid skills.
