A puppy rescued from a pile of fly-tipped rubbish has found a home.
Marty the terrier cross was picked up by a passing cyclist on a cross-country trail near Stisted two days before Christmas.
Braintree Council’s dog warden, Mark Carlo, was called out to help and he took Marty to the RSPCA’s Danaher Animal Home in Wethersfield.
Marty has been staying with another puppy at a temporary foster home but was due to move into a permanent home at the weekend.
Deborah Satchell, animal home manager, said: "Fingers crossed this is a happy ending for our little monkey.
"It’s a nice family home with another dog for him to play with and the family showed an interest very shortly after he arrived."
