A three-year-old girl who battled a rare form of cancer for more than two years has finally been told she is cancer-free.

Sienna Riley was diagnosed with neuroblastoma - an aggressive cancer that attacks the nerve cells - in November 2012.

In November last year, she underwent successful surgery to remove a tumour, which only left a small amount under her diaghragn, which was too risky to remove.

The surgery was originally supposed to take place in February, but it had to be delayed because her blood platelet count was too low, meaning her blood would not clot.

Doctors told her family this week that she had entered the remission stage - the symptoms and signs of the cancer have disappeared.

Her family posted on Facebook that they were “ecstatic” to receive the long-awaited news.
