Residents are campaigning for a permanent speed camera after a car overturned on a residential street.

A man in his 60s suffered injuries to his shoulder and head after an Audi overturned following a three-car crash in Church Lane, Bocking, on Sunday.

The ambulance service sent a rapid response car and an ambulance to the scene at about 1.40pm and the man was taken to Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford for further care.

His injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.

The ambulance service also treated another person at the scene.

One fire engine from Braintree was also called to wash down a fuel spillage.

Essex Police closed the road while the vehicle was recovered and they are not taking any further action.

Kenneth Pallant, who lives in Chuch Lane, said a permanent speed camera was desperately needed to deter speeding.
