Police have declared a war against drugs in the district after a haul of cannabis ready to be sold was discovered.
Around 50 cannabis plants were discovered upstairs, along with extractor fans and lamps, after nine police officers raided a two-bedroom house in Spencer Square, Bocking on Monday.
Martin Richards, acting inspector at Braintree Police, said the raid reflected a renewed determination to tackle the scourge in Braintree, Witham and Halstead.
He said: "The reason why there are more drugs raids happening at the moment is because we are actively searching for it and wanting to deal with it."
