A Braintree schoolgirl leapt for joy after receiving a Blue Peter badge for saving a boy from drowning.
Eleven-year-old Chelsea Jackson, of Trotters Field, was sent the prestigious pin last Monday after she wrote to the show about her heroic actions during a summer holiday in Great Yarmouth.
The pupil at Great Bradfords Junior School helped rescue a six-year-old boy, who got into difficulty when jumping into a swimming pool at Hotel Victoria, during her holiday with her aunt and grandma in August.
While she was swimming in the pool, she noticed the boy jump in and struggle to swim.
When his mother also jumped in holding her bag, she panicked and was unable to rescue him.
