A teenager became the first pupil to parade a bespoke secondary school standard at a First World War memorial service in Ypres.
Ben McRae-Adams, 14, carried the Tabor Academy standard at the Menin Gate Last Post Ceremony.
The ceremony is held nightly to remember the soldiers who died in the Ypres Salient. Belgium.
Tabor Academy, where Ben is a pupil, was the first Essex school to be affiliated with the Royal British Legion and is the only school in the UK to have a bespoke school remembrance standard that is connected to the organisation.
Gordon Roach, standard bearer for the RBL's Braintree and Bocking branch, trained Ben for four weeks before his debut in front of thousands of spectators.
The teenager won a Jack Petchey Achievement Award for his role in the ceremony.
