Firefighters tackled a fire which broke out in a beam in an exterior wall at a Braintree hotel.
Two fire engines from Braintree were called to the White Hart Hotel in Bocking End, Braintree, at about 3.20pm today.
Crews used a thermal imaging camera to locate the burning beam and then cut the wall away to access it.
They used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire which was was out 30 minutes later.
Firefighters also used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear smoke from the building.
