A Coggeshall-based vineyard was the only one in East Anglia to win an award at an international wine competition.
West Street Vineyard won a bronze award with its 2013 West Street White, made from Faber grapes, in this year’s International Wine Challenge, which see entrants from France, Italy, Germany, Australia and New Zealand.
Jane and Stephen Mohan bought the vineyard in 2009 when it comprised of only 800 vines and then in 2011 they planted a further 3,500 vines.
Jane said: “I knew the wine was good but you never know when you enter an international competition.
“I was over the moon when we found out.”
