Witham pupils are learning how to break dance with a Britain’s Got Talent finalist.
Professional dancer Benji Shogbulu, who shot to fame in 2010 with dance group Peridot Dance after wowing the TV show’s judges with slick routines, will lead dance sessions with boys studying at New Rickstones Academy from Monday.
Benji first visited the school in April to lead student workshops and, following a successful funding application by head of dance Lisa Warnock, the school has won the chance to offer weekly sessions.
The school has won a grant from the Greensward Charitable Trust, who offer money for the advancement of the education and well-being of pupils attending academies operated by the Academies Enterprise Trust.
