A new artisan market for Witham will be scaled back.
The Marketing Witham community interest company had hoped to bring 100 stalls to Newland Street, but this was dropped because bus company Stephenson’s of Essex had objected to the planned road closure.
Members have now applied to close Newland Street between Collingwood Road and the library, but there will not be enough space for that many stalls.
It will be scaled back to 50 and there will still be access to homes, the church and doctors' surgery.
New dates have now been set for May 1, June 5 and July 3.
