Ale lovers will be hitting the Public Hall in Witham for the venue’s second beer festival.

An increased number of real ales, drawn mostly from Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk, plus ciders and perries, will be on offer during the event, which runs this Friday and Saturday.

Public Hall events manager, Graham Green, said: “This is one of our biggest fund raising events of the year and the money raised goes back into improving the hall and its facilities for the benefit of Witham.”

Admission is £3 with £2 refunded for return of glass. CAMRA members get in free before 6pm each day (membership card required).

The festival is open between noon and 11pm. Food will be available between 5pm and 9pm tomorrow and noon to 3pm and 5pm to 9pm on Saturday.
