When Ray Nichols was nominated to do the ice bucket challenge for charity, he decided to go big - and dived into an industrial size bin.
He jet-washed and cleaned the Braintree Council wheeled bin for two hours and even had a defibrillator on hand, just in case.
Ray, of Dorothy Sayers Drive, Witham, said: “I was a little worried about hitting my head on the bottom, but managed a tight turn and avoided injury.
“Eyes were closed and it was over in a flash.
“It wasn't that bad and was quite refreshing actually."
