Firefighters have extinguished a barn fire in the early hours of this morning.
Two engines from Braintree, one from Coggeshall and two from Halstead, including a water bowser, attended the fire in Bovingdon Road, Braintree, just before 12.30am.
Crews reported the barn measured 10 by six metres and the roof and rear of the barn were alight.
Firefighters used three hose reels and one main jet to tackle the blaze and it was extinguished by 2am.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage and the fire service and the police will carry out an investigation.
