Travellers who set up camp on a football pitch in White Notley have “left a trail of destruction” after police moved them on.

About 20 vans and caravans arrived at White Notley Football Club, Faulkbourne Road, on Wednesday, August 13.

Officers gave the travellers until 10.30am on Friday, August 15, to leave after the land owner of the pitches alerted police.

Sergeant David Wright of Braintree police confirmed the travellers caused disruption at Freeport roundabout on Friday evening.
