Police crack down on "travelling criminals" following spate of rural burglaries

Police have launched an operation to clamp down on seasonal “travelling criminals” stealing equipment from sheds and outbuildings.

Operation Loud is now in force across Braintree and Uttlesford districts to crack down on burglaries police believe are being committed by criminals from outside the area.

Braintree Police Sergeant David Wright said criminals from Cambridge and Harlow could be targeting Braintree district and escaping on the M11.
