Springfield NHS walk-in centre may relocate to Broomfield

Health commissioners are planning to close the walk-in centre at Sainsbury’s, Springfield, and move services to Broomfield Hospital.

The idea is part of a consultation by Mid Essex Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), which commissions primary healthcare services.

Dr Bryan Spencer, of the CCG, said: “The walk-in centre contract comes to an end in March 2015 and there are no plans to renew it.

“It makes a lot of sense in many ways for it to be on the Broomfield site.”
