A care home resident took a trip down memory lane as she reminisced with friends and family about her time serving in the Women’s Royal Navy Service.

Blodwin Carter, who is a resident at Bradbury House in New Street, Braintree, held a talk at the home about her time in the service among other former ‘Wrens’.

Staff at the home contacted the Association of Wrens to see if any of their members would like to visit the home to reminisce about old times after Mrs Carter enjoyed talking about her fond memories.

See this week's Braintree and Witham Times for the full story.

OMPITA [Intl] says...

Women's Royal Naval Service if you please!

Dear Mr Editor Sir,

Are you really so incapable of getting a grip of your dilatory staff?

For God's sake get a 'grown up' to check their work before publication!

What an insult to this lady when the BWT can't even correctly name the Branch of the Services in which she served this country.

Shameful.
