Children got up close and personal with animals at Linton Zoo.
The wildlife breeding centre in Cambridgeshire offered the 35 pupils from Gosfield School, Cut Hedge Park, the chance to see a whole range of animals including tigers, lions, lemurs, giant tortoises, kangaroos and tapirs, as well as the opportunity to touch owls, skinks, snakes, tortoises, giant land snails and guinea pigs.
The children, aged between five and seven, also took home two trees which had been grown at the zoo so they can set up their own green area at their school, to enable them to learn about native species and the natural world around them.
