Villagers in Great Leighs marked the centenary of the start of WWI with a memorial service and exhibition of rare artefacts from the time.
Military equipment, uniforms, medals and photographs were put on display by local historians while villagers brought in their own historical items.
Organiser Anne Wilson said: “We invited people to bring in anything they had at home from the time.
“It is only at an event like this that people have the opportunity to get things out of their cupboards and tell people about it.”
