A village hairdresser who styled four generations of the same family has packed away his scissors after 45 years.
Robert Wensley, 66, opened the Looking Glass salon in Jeffreys Road, Cressing, in September 1968 and celebrated his last haircut at 4.30pm on Friday, August 1, with a few farewell nibbles.
Mr Wensley, from Chelmsford, has got to know many of his customers as friends since he started hairdressing at 21 and will be “sorely missed” by regulars who came to say goodbye.
