A beer festival in memory of a young rugby player returns for its sixth year.
Every year, Braintree Rugby Club organises a beer festival and rugby matches in memory of Matthew New, a youth team player for the club who died in a road traffic accident in February 2002, aged 15.
The event, starting at 10am, will take place at the clubメs grounds in Robbswood, Beckers Green Road next Saturday.
Real ales and ciders will be available from midday and there will be bands, including the Birch Bros, Stop & Search, Johnny B Goode and Dragon Fruit, performing throughout the event.
Children are welcome and there will be soft drinks, sweet stalls, assault courses and bouncy castles to keep them entertained.
Teams who are interested in playing should email Ruan Holt on ruanholt@hotmail.co.uk.
Entrance to the beer festival and to watch the rugby is absolutely free.
