Drivers narrowly avoid more traffic misery as Highways postpone resurfacing

First published in News

Road-users have narrowly avoided traffic misery as Essex Highways have postponed planned resurfacing works.

Coldnailhurst Avenue was due to close for the scheduled work on Monday, August 4 at the same time as adjoining Panfield Lane.

Anglian Water plan to close Panfield Lane from Coldnailhurst Avenue roundabout to Porters Field roundabout on July 29 in both directions for approximately eight weeks to replace a water main.

An Essex Highways spokesman said: “In light of works already being carried out by Anglian Water in Panfield Lane, Braintree, non-urgent surfacing works in Coldnailhurst Avenue, Braintree, which were due to begin on August 4, have been postponed.

“The decision was made to reduce the potential disruption caused to road users."
