Wall demolished on A12 danger spot

An out of control car demolished a garden wall on a junction where local residents have begged the authorities to bring in safety measures.

A red Audi A4 smashed into the wall at a house in Oak Road, Rivenhall End, on Sunday, July 27, after leaving the A12.

Rivenhall councillor James Abbott said the Highways Agency must now act over the junction: “If they don’t do anything there will be another one and it’s just a question of who gets hurt.

“It’s pure luck that nobody has been killed.”

Mr Abbott said the wall had now been rebuilt six times by the same builder after crashes and several more times before that by other builders.

A police spokesman said nobody had been injured.

I know the lady who owns that house. I don't know how many times she has had to have that wall rebuilt but she must be beside herself. There have been numerous discussions about this junction with people saying that there's no such thing as a dangerous road, just dangerous driving, which is of little help to the person who owns the house and the person who hits the wall (again)

So how do you suggest the Highway Agency "help the lady"....?
As with the previous story on this - not one person had a solution that would solve this problem. Whatever road layout, signage, etc, you will still get dangerous morons crashing into the wall.
Double the length of the slip road....? The idiots will still leave it till the last minute to brake.
Better signage warning the idiots of what they're approaching...? What makes you think they will take any notice when none of them understand what the 30mph signs mean - even past the school in the village!
Possibly remove the wall and the house and replace with a gravel trap and tyre wall for all these racing drivers that leave it too late to brake.....?
"Help the person who hits the wall (again)"....? Give them driving lessons and teach them the basics again...? Get their eyes tested...? Maybe it's one of the many people claiming disability benefits - pretending they've got a limp, so can't use the brake pedal...? Surely if they can drive - they can work, so take the car away from them! Very funny.
Was there not a car rolled over in Bradwell today after hitting another car....? I'm sure that's a straight bit of road with a 30 or 40mph limit. Cars don't flip that easy. Another moron driver.......? Or was it another dangerous road that caught out an unsuspecting car driver....?
Seriously worrying - so many people out in public with so few braincells.
Bring on the abuse and excuses......

Apologies - I've completely got the wrong end of the stick.
Come on, driving along on a nice straight road doing at least 80mph, because everyone knows we can add at least 10mph to any speed limit, even another 20mph in a 30 limit.
As I was saying - driving along a nice straight road, sending a couple of texts, updating Facebook, liking the fact a friend has just had an afternoon nap at work, or just picked up their benefits, then realising you need to turn off, so you start to swerve across from the other lane you've been sat in not actually overtaking anyone, leaving your braking too late and unable to go round the corner......Oopppps. "Accident". It's alright - everyone is insured. Doesn't matter.
What does matter - these dangerous roads, with corners and slips roads, just laying there all quite and ready to pounce and make us crash. It's disgusting. Corners, slip roads, roundabouts, traffic lights should all be outlawed. Just like level crossings!!! How can we be expected to negotiate any of these dangers???
You all need to watch the film Idiocracy. It is exactly how the world is devolving.
