An out of control car demolished a garden wall on a junction where local residents have begged the authorities to bring in safety measures.
A red Audi A4 smashed into the wall at a house in Oak Road, Rivenhall End, on Sunday, July 27, after leaving the A12.
Rivenhall councillor James Abbott said the Highways Agency must now act over the junction: “If they don’t do anything there will be another one and it’s just a question of who gets hurt.
“It’s pure luck that nobody has been killed.”
Mr Abbott said the wall had now been rebuilt six times by the same builder after crashes and several more times before that by other builders.
A police spokesman said nobody had been injured.
