Police raided homes in Braintree as part of an operation to smash criminal gangs who travel into Essex to sell drugs.

Warrants were executed in Bailey Bridge Road and Templar Road, resulting in two arrests and the seizure of suspected cannabis and cocaine.

An Essex police spokesman said two male suspected drug dealers were arrested at the property in Bailey Bridge Road on June 23 and bailed until August 26.

Police said no arrests were made in Templar Road but neighbours recalled a heavy police presence around the time of the raid.
