First published in News by , Reporter

A laptop worth £1,500 was stolen from an unlocked van.

Thieves took the Panasonic CF52 laptop from the insecure white Vauxhall Vivaro van between 11am and 2.05pm last Tuesday.

The van, which had a 55 registration plate, was parked in Braintree Road, Witham.

Sergeant Martin Richards, of Braintree Police, said: “We would like to remind vehicle owners of the need to lock their vehicles and not to leave valuable items either on show or in their vehicles at all.”

What utter rubbish to suggest that you can't leave your goods wherever you want because of 'modern times'.

Opportunist thieving has been fundamental to the human psyche since time immemorial.

Bhudeeka should perhaps abandon her rose tinted specs and don a proper pair of reading glasses - then she could maybe spend an hour or two browsing the 'on-line' version of the Old Bailey Trial Records.

It would no doubt please her immensely to learn of the numerous instances of judicial face branding and burning of hands that took place in an effort to disincentivize the light fingered populace.

Modern times my A***!

I'm puzzled by the Brainless and Witless inclusion of the van's registration year (55). What has that got to do with anything?
