Kerry Glen-Martin's hair was ruined by a shampoo

First published in News

A woman whose hair was almost destroyed by a supermarket shampoo has praised a village hairdresser for fixing her frazzled mane.

Kerry Glen-Martin, 41, of Bocking Church Street, was horrified to find her hair feeling coated and matted together after washing her waist-length hair with a Tesco coconut shampoo.

Despite using scissors, sewing needles and even a screwdriver to try to separate her hair, nothing worked and hairdressers across the town told her the only solution would be to shave her head.

Mrs Glen-Martin was at the end of her tether when she met Tracey Corcoran of New Image hairdressers in March, who started a gruelling four-month de-tangling process to restore her long locks to their former glory.

Hero?

Not in my definition of the word hero - a word too often lazily used for people just doing their job.

I think that if there is any 'hero' associated with this story it is the Editor of the BWT for having the temerity to publish an article apparently blaming the Tesco product for this calamity.

I would guess that the company's lawyers are 'sharpening their knives' at this very moment.

I'm selling my Newsquest shares PDQ!

Good grief, the woman's a hairdresser not a hero. What a stupid headline.

Would've been a **** sight quicker & cheaper to have shaved it off & be done with it. What a ridiculous non story

Really?? This woman lets her hair dread lock like that, and thinks the people reading the papers are going to believe that using Tesco shampoo is the cause of the problem!?! Either the woman is looking for a scam compensation claim,or the hairdresser asked her for some publicity, but there is no way shampoo caused that mess! Looks like it hasn't been brushed in years!!! B&W do you even read the stories you print?
