A pilot has launched a campaign to unclog Braintree’s congestion after he became fed up of sitting in traffic jams every day.

Adrian Kinsley, 28, of Clay Pits, Braintree, has written to MP Brooks Newmark and Essex County Council’s Highways Agency in a bid to improve traffic flow in the town centre.

The aircraft pilot for Ryanair has also set up a Get Braintree Moving Facebook page in the hopes that a huge following will force the county council to improve the town’s infrastructure.

He said: “I decided to start a campaign because the 9am to 5pm traffic through Braintree day in, day out is just a nightmare.

“I am just fed up with it - most of the town is constantly gridlocked."
