Residents have criticised an under performing bus company for refusing to stop in their village leaving them feeling isolated and neglected.
First Essex Bus services connecting Chelmsford and Colchester have not stopped at Rivenhall End since October last year, because drivers have safety concerns.
The village is bisected by the A12 and bus drivers say the stops on the northbound and southbound carriageways are unsafe, despite the fact other bus companies use them.
Resident John Macrae, 63, said: “We are an increasingly isolated community, but we are on an important strategic route."
