A rescue dog is keeping his paws on the ground after finding fame in a TV advert.

Husky Neeko’s owners were forced to abandon him as a puppy in 2012 after they were evicted from their home.

Emma Gooding, 31, who owns the Four Paws dog grooming salon in Braintree, said she used to go in to see the dogs at the Dunmow kennels and quickly fell in love with the pooch.

She eventually took him home and said: “He’s an amazing dog, even as a puppy he was so chilled out and huskies are usually very excitable.”

Miss Gooding said she was emailed by business card company Vistaprint looking for customers to appear in their adverts.

She agreed to an interview and travelled to London with Neeko for a formal audition.

“I didn’t in a million years think anything was going to come of it. It was a bit surreal,” she said.
