Thieves have stolen golf clubs worth £1,500 from a car in a public car park.

The black Audi A3 was parked in Cut Throat Lane car park on July 4 when thieves smashed the rear quarterlight window and retrieved a whole set of Calloway clubs and a black and yellow Nike golf bag.

Witham Police Sergeant Martin Richards said: “We constantly put out the message that people should not leave anything on show in a parked vehicle, expensive or otherwise.”
