Thieves stole £718 worth of property from a house after reaching through the letterbox to open the front door.
The house in Dorothy Sayers Drive, Witham, was secure at the time and burglars took a Garmin Nuvi sat nav, an iPad, a Hudl tablet and a Slazenger backpack between 3 and 4 July.
Witham Police Sergeant Martin Richards said: “This kind of crime is unusual whereby people reach through the letterbox, normally with a tool, to open the front door.
“If anybody saw anything unusual, please contact 101.”
