Police helicopter searching for man in Braintree
Police have carried out a widespread search following reports that two men were carrying knives.
The force helicopter assisted with a search after a call came in shortly before 5pm.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "Police were contacted following reports that two men were in possession of knives in Rayne Road, Braintree.
"Officers attended the scene and carried out a search of the area with the assistance of the helicopter.
"Following a series of stop and search checks on a handful of people, including two men at Witham train station, no-one was found to be in possession of any knives."
